Own an Android phone? Your phone will be hacked through wifi

One Researcher has proven that certain Android smartphones are susceptible to attack via Wi-Fi signal traps.

According to sources, the Wi-Fi chipset manufactured by Broadcom has a flaw allows the execution of malicious code just be being in Wi-Fi range and without user interaction.

This Wi-Fi chipset is used by both iOS and Android devices, but Apple has already released a fix with Monday's roll-out of iOS 10.3.1 update. Apple included information that advised, "An attacker within range may be able to execute arbitrary code on the Wi-Fi chip,"

google is currently on working on an update solution in its April security bulletin. This will only fix a small number of device models. Unfortunately, it may take some weeks before a full over-the-air update is availabe for all vulnerable devices.

Here is the detailed Blog from Project Zero team at Google.
